Os Truká de São Félix: resgatando memórias e construindo o futuro por meio da metodologia rara

Abstract

This work corresponds to an applied research conducted on the Island of São Félix, Pernambuco, a territory predominantly inhabited by the Truká Indigenous people. The aim was to identify the needs of the local inhabitants, aiming to integrate them into sustainable development and cultural preservation, focusing on strategies that promote community progress without compromising natural resources. To this end, the experimental methodology RARA – Reconnection with Ancestralities and with the Environment was adopted, structured in four stages: remember, improve, repeat, and advance. This approach combined tools from social marketing and theater to deepen the understanding of the Truká way of life and propose strategies aligned with economic, social, cultural, and environmental sustainability. Among the results, the collection of information about the daily life of the village, the implementation of an artistic intervention based on theater-forum, participation in a local radio interview with representatives from the legislative branch and the Truká community, and the offering of a course aimed at the women of the village stand out.
