Abstract: Traditional communities maintain a harmonious relationship with space and nature. These interactions are revealed through their ways of life, which are rooted in ancestral practices passed down through generations. Based on these connections, guaiamum fishing communities have mobilized to protect their traditional fishing practices and their ways of life. As a tool for mobilization and coping with the conflicts surrounding their guaiamum fishing practices, the community members of the Canavieiras Extractive Reserve, located in southern Bahia, chose to register on the Traditional Territories Platform. This paper, therefore, has the general objective of discussing the effects of registering the guaiamum fishing territory on the aforementioned platform and thus understanding the contradictions linked to the visibility of the territory that the registration provides. To this end, we will pose some fundamental questions, such as to what extent the development of the document can strengthen self-knowledge for territorial self-management, what are the possible impacts of not including communities in the Canavieiras Extractive Reserve's demarcation, and what role do institutions and legal instruments play in strengthening territorial self-management. Thus, to develop the registration process, we took as a starting point an action research approach, aligned with the qualitative method, based on joint action with the communities. To ensure complementarity, theoretical materials were used alongside practical field activities. The registration process of the Goiamunzeiro Territory on the Traditional Territories Platform, although still under analysis, proved to be an important tool for valuing community knowledge, political strengthening, and identity affirmation of the guaiamum fishing communities. More than a formal registration, the initiative generated internal reflections focused on community self-management through traditional knowledge and the protection of lifeways and territory.

Abstract: Actually, most teachers when adopting unattractive methodologies and with short connection
with the reality of their students, reinforces the stereotype of Geography as a “decorative”
subject. This study aims to contribute to new teaching-learning configurations in a fun and
entertaining way. To this end, it proposes the use of active methodologies, but specifically
gamification, in two teaching proposals, using the following digital games: League of
Legends and Minecraft. These games were presented and experienced by a class of students
on a licentiate in Geography at the Federal University of Bahia who, in the near future, will
be future teachers of the subject and in this research correspond to our target audience. This
work is organized according to the following methodological stages: bibliographic research
of key words, development of “gamified” praxis, construction of hornbooks with with
theoretical content and explanation of the proposed practices, application of the didactics to
the target audience and evaluation of the proposals using a questionnaire. After analysis, most
of the results revealed that the future teachers considered the didactics to be playful and to
promote immersion, placing the student at the center of the teaching-learning process.

Abstract: This study investigates natural disasters, adverse events that generate negative impacts on vulnerable regions, putting populations at risk. It focuses on hydrological disasters, such as floods, floods and flash floods, which cause material damage and disturbances in urban dynamics. The main objective of the research is to analyze the distribution of areas susceptible to flooding in the locality of Baixa de Santa Rita, in Salvador, through a participatory mapping, correlating this information with the perception of the community and the actions of the public authorities. The methodology adopted involves a qualitative approach, with semi-structured interviews conducted with residents of Baixa de Santa Rita. This approach aims to understand recurrent flooding in the precarious urban community by exploring how residents perceive and cope with these events. The research seeks to integrate the knowledge of local communities with scientific methods for a more comprehensive understanding of flooding problems. The results of the research highlight the urgency of preventive and adaptive measures in the face of the challenges of flooding in downtown Santa Rita, evidenced by the mapping of 297 buildings in areas of medium and high risk to flooding. The temporal analysis reveals a critical seasonality during the rainy months, underlining the direct influence of climatic conditions on disasters. Based on data from the 2010 Census, the survey shows a clear connection between the population's income and exposure to disasters, particularly floods, highlighting socioeconomic vulnerability. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrated approaches that consider not only disaster exposure, but also socio-economic conditions, to effectively improve the resilience and quality of life of vulnerable communities. The research highlights the need for public policies that address not only the events themselves, but also the structural and social conditions that contribute to the vulnerability of these communities to natural disasters.

Since the first attempts to set up a university in Brazil, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees have always been linked to the elites. After several attempts to popularize higher education in Brazil, during the Old Republic and the Estado Novo, the 1960s became a major milestone for its popularization, but in a "timid" way. In this period the first university courses directed to the night shift also appeared, nevertheless, the majority of them offered in particular institutions. Although the Constitution of 1988 and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education of 1996 guide the installation of undergraduate courses at night, this phenomenon has only intensified during the first decade of the 2000s. Policies implemented in the first and second decades of the 21st century resulted in a new profile of university student. The university, which was once white and composed mostly of the higher classes, began to share these spaces with blacks and browns, Indians and quilombolas, as well as workers. The UFBA night course of Geography, created in 2007, in turn, presents a peculiar public, as result of these policies. The present research had as main objective to analyze the Geography night course of UFBA after 10 years of its creation, considering the profile and the perception of students and alumni in relation to the course. In order to achieve this objective, questionnaires and forms were applied to students and graduates, as well as were utilized documents by UFBA and MEC. The main results indicated that the majority of the interviewed students of the night course come from public school with income between 1 and 3 minimum wages. Some of the interviewees showed concern about the relationship between geography and teaching in the night course, in addition to the low participation in research initiation, teaching and extension fellowships. Another problem that affects students in the night course is the conciliation of work with studies. The gratuity, the schedule, as well as the good reputation of the institution and of the Geography night course itself were the main aspects pointed out by the students interviewed for the choice of the UFBA institution. Along the way many students give up or delaying the course. The difficulties encountered in the disciplines, often due to the weak school base acquired in basic education, as well as the difficult conciliation with the work were the most cited factors for delay to finish the course. Most of the graduates act as teachers of Geography in private institutions.
