Abstract: Introduction: Chronic Noncommunicable Conditions (CCNTs) represent one of the
main challenges in public health today. Among them, diabetes mellitus (DM) stands out
due to its high prevalence, significant socioeconomic impact, and association with
multiple complications. Although national and international guidelines provide
recommendations for DM management, significant variability in the quality of care
provided is observed, especially in primary care. Furthermore, there is a lack of indicators
and instruments that allow for a comprehensive assessment of the quality of care
provided. Objective: To perform content validation and pre-testing of quality of care
indicators in an elderly population with diabetes treated in primary care. Methods: The
study was conducted in two stages. In the first, content validation of quality of care
indicators was performed through a methodological study based on the Delphi Consensus
Technique, using the recommendations available in the American Diabetes Association
(ADA) Standards of Care in Diabetes. The second stage consisted of a cross-sectional
study to pre-test the validated indicators. This phase took place between September 2024
and January 2025, and included 114 participants aged 60 or older, with a medical
diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), who were being followed in public
pharmacies in a Brazilian municipality. Results: Eight endocrinologists from three
regions of Brazil agreed to participate in the expert panel. Of the 48 recommendations
evaluated, 35 reached consensus in the first round, with an agreement rate greater than
85%. The remaining items were reassessed in the second round, resulting in the exclusion
of four indicators and the final validation of 44. Of the validated indicators, 27 were
assessed through private room interviews, while the remaining 17 were analyzed through
the participants' electronic medical records. Important gaps were identified in the
management of hypoglycemia, vaccination status, and social aspects. Indicators related
to behavioral factors were most frequently explored during consultations. Conclusion:
The validated indicators demonstrated viability for assessing the quality of care for
elderly people with DM and can be applied in excellent care contexts, allowing the
identification of aspects that require improvements in assistance to the population.

Abstract: Sexual violence is a violation of rights and a public health issue. Children and adolescents are at greater risk of being sexually victimized due to the vulnerability and dependence typical of each developmental period. Various consequences can be associated with mental health and behavioral problems, not only for the victims but also for their families. Considering that the provision of care and the development of coping strategies for sexual violence must consider the family as a whole, this research aimed to analyze the experiences of families with adolescent victims of sexual violence who access the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (CREAS) in a municipality in the interior of Bahia. The research is linked to the "Human Development and Educational Practices in Health" line of the Professional Master's Program in Health Psychology (UFBA - IMS/CAT), which aims to study human development and its relationship with health in the environmental, family, institutional, and community context. The design adopted was qualitative, of a descriptive-exploratory nature. Participants in the study were three caregivers of adolescents registered with the Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center (CREAS) due to victimization by sexual violence. Data collection involved the use of multiple techniques in distinct stages: narrative interview, genogram, and ecomap. Data analysis was conducted based on the construction of meaning cores, grounded in Vygotsky's historical-cultural perspective. From the analysis, four meaning cores emerged: sexual violence as a rupture and a challenge to understanding; the emotional and relational impacts of sexual violence and the required adaptations; ambivalences of the institutional and informal protection network; and social and structural dimensions of sexual violence. Based on these results, a Technical Technological Product was developed in accordance with the objectives of the Professional Master's Program. This product is a guide, in e-book format, directed at parents and guardians of adolescent victims of sexual violence, aiming the appliance of scientific knowledge in practice and contributing to the improvement of practices in the protection network services. In conclusion, this research contributes to a broader understanding of the role of families in addressing sexual violence and the need for intersectoral public policies that guarantee continuous and humane support.

Abstract: This study investigated the prevalence of depressive symptoms among adolescent and young
men who have sex with men (AYMSM), the factors associated with severe depressive
symptoms, and validated the construct of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression
Scale (CES-D) in this group during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vitória da Conquista, BA. This
was a cross-sectional study with participants aged 15–24 years, recruited using Respondent
Driven Sampling (RDS) between June and December 2021. Data were collected through
interviews using a semi-structured questionnaire addressing sociodemographic and behavioral
characteristics, alcohol and drug use, self-assessed health, healthcare access, discrimination,
and violence. The CES-D scale was used to assess severe depressive symptoms (score ≥22).
Associations with the outcome were examined using bivariate and multivariate Poisson
regression analyses to estimate prevalence ratios (PR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI).
All analyses were weighted using Giles’ estimator. The internal consistency of the CES-D was
evaluated using Spearman’s coefficient and Cronbach’s alpha. Item analysis was conducted
through item-total correlation, mean inter-item correlation, and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient.
The internal consistency assessment showed that most items had significant and positive
correlations, except item 4, which presented a negative direction. The overall reliability of the
scale was 0.90. Item reliability analysis showed adequate consistency for most items, except
item 4, and the mean inter-item correlation was greater than 0.20. Among the 111 participants,
36.9% had no or mild depressive symptoms, 19.5% had moderate symptoms, and 43.6% had
severe depressive symptoms. Severe depressive symptoms were associated with consuming
five or more alcoholic drinks on three or more days per week (PR=2.09; 95% CI=1.28–3.41),
self-rated health as fair, poor, or very poor (PR=2.00; 95% CI=1.30–3.10), and discrimination
on social media (PR=2.16; 95% CI=1.41–3.31). The internal consistency assessment of the
CES-D showed high reliability. A high prevalence of severe depressive symptoms was
observed among AYMSM, reflecting the intensification of pre-existing vulnerabilities and the
accumulation of adverse psychosocial factors during the pandemic, which disproportionately
affected their mental health. Broader public policies are needed to prevent depressive symptoms
among AYMSM, ensure access to mental health services, and implement punitive measures
against discriminatory practices, particularly during health crises.

Abstract: The Passifloraceae family, with more than 630 species, is predominant in tropical
and subtropical regions, with Passiflora being the most extensive and diverse genus. This
study aims to deepen the knowledge about the Passifloraceae family and the metabolic
profiles of Passiflora subspecies, known for their rich phytochemical composition,
including glycosylated flavonoids, carotenoids, cyanogenic glycosides, alkaloids,
steroids, lignans, fatty acids, amino acids, chlorogenic acid derivatives and
proanthocyanidins. Initially, we performed a comprehensive review covering studies
from 1983 to 2023, offering a detailed overview of the scientific discoveries on the
chemical compounds present in the genus Passiflora. Then, we combined mass
spectrometry and molecular networking to explore the chemical diversity of native
species of the genus Passiflora from Brazil. We developed a comprehensive database
using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) to analyze
the metabolic profile of several subspecies. The generated data were submitted to the
GNPS platform, which generated a Molecular Networking, in which the same substances
were grouped in a single node and the similar ones in clusters. The data generated by the
network were dereplicated and also analyzed by multivariate statistical methods, and thus
this work revealed metabolic similarities between species, such as P. incarnata,
suggesting shared pharmacological potential. We documented 25 species not previously
studied, expanding the knowledge about their medicinal properties and opening paths for
the development of new products.
