It aims to interpret the conditions under which these events are formulated and realized as spaces for promoting reading and literature, in the light of the field of Librarianship. Exploratory in nature, the study’s methodology includes the documentary analysis of reports on events held between 2016 and 2023, and the apprehension of the meanings of the uses of the concept of literary curation, based on the interpretation of questionnaires applied to curators. The results highlight the importance of literary curation in reading mediation, emphasizing the need for greater knowledge about literature and the integration of different artistic expressions at events. The conclusions point to the concept of literary curation as a process that involves the analysis, selection, and organization of literary works, promoting public interaction with literature, and the relevance of library science training for the practice of curation, suggesting that collaboration between these fields can strengthen cultural public policies and the promotion of reading.
