The objective of this study was to concisely report aspects of performance based on reflection and experience of the simultaneous use of reeds, and, specifically, to bring to light experiences that corroborate the selection of a particular reed for a specific performance, in order to exemplify whether different repertoires act directly to determine the selection of a reed, and finally, to point out characteristics of this practice that bring benefits and disadvantages. To achieve these results, it was essential to use a case study and experience report methodology that took into account a bibliographic review, with the aim of delving deeper into the topic, serving as a guide in the careful review of the practical and reflective aspects to be reported in the performance diaries. After analyzing the data collected in the presentations, it was possible to confirm that the simultaneous use, in fact, had a beneficial influence on the musical performance, pointing to the use of the best available pick among both scrapings, even though within the same slope one was scraped that stood out from the others. The article is divided into two parts: the first discusses the characteristics of the two original pieces, “Gota de Orvalho” and “Sons de Outono,” as well as the four roles undertaken by the author in this work – researcher/narrator, composer, performer and editor. The second part presents the main idiomatic characteristics of each piece, where the author suggests possible solutions for specific passages. The article included in this work addresses some processes for resolving technical challenges in the preparation of Franz Liszt's Sonata in B minor. As this is a piece that demands an advanced level of performance from the performer, there is a wide variety of pianistic technical aspects that could be explored, resulting in reports on more efficient and less fatiguing ways to study and execute them. We reference concepts found in the works of H. Neuhaus, J. Lhevinne, J.C. Hoffmann, and E. Y. Liberman. This work includes the memorial, article, product, and annexes. The memorial aims to report my journey from the beginning of my musical and academic career until entering PPGPROM. Next, the article investigates two instrumental arrangements for solo guitar of the song Manhã de Carnaval, by Luiz Bonfá, highlighting the importance of studying harmony. The product proposes a guide-method for guitar study entirely linked to harmonic issues and the practice of arranging small melodies, seeking to align theoretical study with instrumental practice, regardless of the instrument player's level of knowledge. In the annex to this work, I present three arrangements I made during the course. In this way, the aim is to encourage that theoretical and practical study are always done concomitantly, and that future readers of this work feel invited to bring the practice of arrangement into their daily study routines.
