Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the age at which Paralympic powerlifting athletes reached their best performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Additionally, the study sought to compare ages according to weight category, athletes’ sex, and medalist versus non-medalist status, to identify the age range most associated with peak athletic performance. The database comprised 173 Paralympic powerlifters (88 men and 85 women) who competed at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Data on athletes’ names, date of birth, sex, and performance were obtained from the Official Results Book of Para Powerlifting published by the International Paralympic Committee. Statistical analyses included the independent samples t-test and oneway ANOVA, following verification of normal distribution using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test. The results showed that the overall mean age of athletes was similar between men and women (35 years), with no statistically significant difference between sexes (p = 0.98). In
contrast, a significant difference was observed between medalists (32 years) and non-medalists (36 years; p < 0.001), indicating that athletes who achieved podium positions were, on average, younger. It is concluded that peak performance in elite Paralympic Para Powerlifting tends to occur at approximately 32 years of age, with the younger age of medalists potentially explained by physiological factors such as greater recovery capacity and training responsiveness at younger ages.

Abstract: This study deals with physical exercise in the treatment of anxiety. It provides a definition of physical exercise, which is explained by Caspersen, Powell and Christenson (1985, p. 126) as a “planned, structured and repetitive physical activity that has as its purpose the improvement and maintenance of one or more components of physical fitness.” It discusses anxiety, which according to Leonard and Swedo (1995, p. 976), is “a vague and unpleasant feeling of fear, characterized by discomfort or tension derived from an anticipation of danger, of something unknown or strange”. He develops the concept of treatment as “the set of means (therapies) employed with the aim of eliminating a disease or providing the patient with palliative care” (DE REZENDE, 2010, p. 150). The aim of this study, based on the literature, is to highlight the possible benefits generated by physical exercise in the treatment of people with anxiety disorders. This is a qualitative, descriptive and bibliographical study. The results of this study show that low- or medium-intensity aerobic physical exercise can contribute to the treatment of people with anxiety disorders, provided that the individual has previously undergone a clinical health assessment and is monitored by a physical education professional.

Abstract: This study investigates the effectiveness of psychomotor practices in Physical Education
classes for the inclusion of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Based on
bibliographic and documentary research, the aim was to highlight, through literature, the
benefits psychomotor practices in Physical Education can offer in the development and
inclusion of children with autism. In this context, a documentary survey was conducted
considering the legal support that guides school inclusion. The study discusses the role of
psychomotricity as a pedagogical tool, as well as the transition from segregation to inclusion.
The results indicate that psychomotor practices can encourage active participation of students
with ASD in Physical Education classes, promoting their holistic development. It is concluded
that the effectiveness of inclusion through psychomotor methodology depends on
collaborative work between the educational and social systems, understanding that the
adoption of these strategies, in line with inclusive guidelines, is essential for building an
accessible educational environment.
